My process is a tactile and direct approach, employing both imagery and abstraction. I respond to materials and found images that have a history and a given narrative. I am fascinated by innocent images and materials that can be subverted to produce opposite meaning, thus unlocking the possibility of multiple truths or realities. The inspiration for each work emerges out of the existing tension between these dueling realities. Individual pieces take the form of abstraction, recognizable imagery or a combination of both. I attempt to keep the meaning of the imagery both concrete and visceral, striving to create a balance that will invest the work with a broader resonance and a larger voice.
